Great American Living, the cable channel acquired by Great American Media in 2021, is getting a new name: Great American Faith & Family. The change comes after Great American Media’s merger with Pure Flix. “Given the enormously positive reaction from subscribers to Great American Pure Flix and the ongoing growth of Great American Family, now is the perfect time to sharpen our focus on our second linear channel,” said Bill Abbott, CEO and president of Great American Media. “Great American Faith & Living fills a void in the marketplace, and we are confident viewers will enjoy a strong mix of content that brings the highest quality faith programming in the genre.”

Disney’s 1937 classic film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” hits Disney+ on Monday, October 16, in the form of a 4K restoration. “We are incredibly excited to go back to Walt’s original negative and use current state of the art technology to restore this stunning classic to its original beauty,” said Kevin Schaeffer, director of Restoration for Walt Disney Studios.

As reported by Mashable, the ads – with headlines like “This Seems Unbelievable, But Happens in Dubai Everyday” – resemble the “chumbox” ads found at the bottom of posts on content farm sites, and can take users who click on them to third-party websites with no user profiles.

Ridley Scott’s historical drama “Napoleon” will be released on Apple TV+ after its theatrical release in the form of a director’s cut – currently over four hours long, Scott told Total Film Magazine. “We’ll screen [the theatrical cut] first with Sony, and then it has its run, a then the perfect thing is that [the director’s cut] goes to streaming, and we have four hours 10 minutes,” Scott told the outlet. The film is due in theaters Thanksgiving weekend.

The LA28 Organizing Committee announced its recommendation of lacrosse as one of five sports to be added to the 2028 Summer Olympics in LA. “This is incredibly exciting news,” said USA Lacrosse CEO Marc Riccio. “The LA28 Organizing Committee’s recommendation shows an appreciation for the significance of lacrosse and an understanding of its potential. We’re not to the finish line yet, but this a major step forward in the process.” Final approval of the additional sports to the Olympic program for 2028 will be voted on during the International Olympic Committee session in Mumbai, India from October 15-17.
