WE tv announced the launch of In Between, an online-based series that keeps viewers up to speed on what’s happening to the stars of its unscripted shows off-season. “In this age of fragmented viewing, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to keep viewers engaged longer,” said Marc Juris, WE tv president. “In Between not only bridges seasons but also seamlessly connects our linear and online audiences, giving them a platform to continue the conversation year round.” First up: SWV Reunited, available here today, Monday July 7.

A post on Chris Colfer‘s Twitter Thursday claimed the actor had been let go from the cast of Glee “due to personal reasons.” Not so, insisted 20th Century Fox Television, blaming the post on a hacking attack: “Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.” Also hacked: Colfer’s co-star Lea Michele who, despite a Twitter post on Friday, is not expecting.

Community is alive and well and living on Yahoo. The cult fave comedy, canceled by NBC after five seasons, has been picked up for a 13-ep sixth go-round by Yahoo Screen. Dan Harmon, for one, cheered the development. “I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving online,” said the comedy’s creator. “I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!”

FX placed a 10-ep order for Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, created by and starring Denis Leary. Produced by FX Productions and Fox Television Studios, the comedy about a washed-up rocker is slated for a 2015 premiere. He’s “elated” to be working with FX again said Leary (Rescue Me), adding, “They have a great platform for comedy, an award-winning marketing team and an amazing new Nespresso machine in the conference room.”

NBC‘s Tonight Show had its top-rated second quarter in five years among A18-49, posting 1.29/6 and 3.97 million total viewers, versus .67/3 and best-ever 2.67 million viewers for ABC‘s Jimmy Kimmel Live and .51/2 and 2.66 million viewers for CBS‘s Late Show with David Letterman. Year over year, Tonight was up 52 percent and Kimmel up 10 percent in the demo.

ABC‘s Nightline won the quarter in total viewers (1.69 million) in its first quarter in its new time slot, according to Nielsen, outdrawing NBC‘s Late Night with Seth Meyers by 111,000 and CBS‘s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson by 298,000. Among A18-49, Late Night was tops with .57/4, versus .42/2 for Nightline and .36/2 for Late Late Show.
