Destined to Happen: It’s been reported that FOX‘s The X Factor is firming up a deal to bring former Destiny Child star Kelly Rowland on board. Rowland served as a judge on the eighth season of the UK version of the show. The official announcement is slated to be made today, as the series begins production tomorrow in Charleston, South Carolina. Rowland would join executive producer Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato on The X Factor panel. As for the fourth and final judge, Latin singer-actress Paulina Rubio is rumored to be in talks for the position.

New York mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine L. Oliver will host the eighth annual Made in NY Awards on Monday, June 10 at 7:30p at Gracie Mansion. The awards are given annually to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to various fields in the City’s entertainment and digital media industries. The 2013 Made in NY honorees include: Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor Alan Cumming; Project Runway host and executive producer Heidi Klum; director Spike Lee; singer and actress Audra McDonald; President of HBO Documentary Films Sheila Nevins; NYC-based blogging platform and social networking website Tumblr; and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, founders of The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films. This year’s Made in NY Mayor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Emmy Award-winning television host and broadcast journalist Barbara Walters.

Andy Garcia has joined the cast of FOX‘s Let’s Be Cops. The action comedy series stars Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson as two friends who impersonate police officers using rented uniforms. Garcia will play a seasoned detective who becomes the pair’s boss.
