Soon after the announcement The Oprah Winfrey Show will cease in syndication as of September 2011, Christina Norman, CEO of OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network said the new 24-hour channel will premiere in January 2011. OWN, a joint venture of Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Communications, will launch in nearly 80 million homes on what is now the Discovery Health Channel.
