Human interest segment On the Road is revived by CBS News as a new weekly segment. CBS News originally aired On the Road segments with Charles Kuralt from 1967 to 1980 during CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. Kuralt completed more than 600 segments and he and his crew covered more than a million miles as they related human interest stories from around the country. Reporter Steve Hartman will host the fresh weekly feature that will air in Friday’s CBS Evening News With Scott Pelley.

Starting this Tuesday, MTV is tweaking the schedule of two of its series as Chelsea Settles and I Used To Be Fat will move to 10p and 1030p respectively. Also airing this Tuesday is a special episode of series True Life titled True Life: I’m Addicted to Exercise at 9p.

Thursday’s premiere of Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head series on MTV, marking the return of the animated duo at 10p, attracted 3.3 million total viewers and delivered a 2.6 P12-34 rating. Afterwards at 1030p, MTV’s debut of new series Good Vibes drew in 1.6 million total viewers and posted a 1.4 P12-34 ratings.

Friday’s conclusion of the World Series on FOX where the St. Louis Cardinals won the title in the seventh game has become the most-watched World Series game since 2004 when the Red Sox won for the first time in 86 years. Friday’s World Series game tallied 25.4 million total viewers.

On Friday, CBS and Warner Bros. announced a licensing deal was forged between The CW Network and Hulu. The five-year deal will allow Hulu to stream CW shows on Hulu and Hulu Plus. CW shows included in the deal are 90210, America’s Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and Nikita as well as frosh series Ringer, Hart of Dixie and The Secret Circle. The agreement says up to five in-season episodes will be offered on Hulu Plus for eight days following the broadcast and afterward they will be available on the ad-supported free Hulu website.

Journalist Lisa Ling has sold a single-camera comedy script to ABC titled No. One Son. The project is from DreamWorks Television and ABC Studios and is about a widowed Chinese father who raises his eldest daughter like the son he never had. The daughter then gets involved in a relationship with the eldest son of a traditional Irish/Italian family. Cindy Caponera (Shameless) will write the script and be executive producer along with DreamWorks’ Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank and Ling.

Soon after their show was canceled, the team behind MTV’s The Buried Life Duncan Penn, Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin and Dave Lingwood signed a development deal with MTV’s cross-platform media group MTVX, reports EW. The foursome will work with MTVX on new shows and online projects. The team indicated they want to work on new projects involving the bucket list theme behind The Buried Life.
