FIRST LOOK/ ON TV/ SOUNDSCAN/ BARACK OBAMA IS OUR 44TH PRESIDENT

November 5, 2008

BARACK OBAMA IS OUR 44TH PRESIDENT!!
As an African American Woman, I was so PROUD that Barack Obama won last night (by a landslide 338 Electoral Votes to John McCain’s 162 and still counting) .  I think I called almost every family member to make sure they were watching TV to witness this historical moment.   Most of my relatives never thought they would see they day when a Black Man would become President.  The news even reported Barack’s gramdmother did vote before she died.  So many people in my neighborhood were cheering and honking their car horns.  One area near me even had fireworks going off like it was July 4th.  From Times Square to Harlem, I have never seen so many people gather together to watch a Presidential Election.

People in America are tired of this economic crisis.  They are losing their homes, jobs and 401K’s in which they worked so hard to get.  Last night the people said ENOUGH!! Not only do we have a Democratic President but the Democrats also took over the House and Senate.  It was so great to see all kinds of people watching Barack Obama speak last night.

YES we can!! YES we did (Vote)!! and YES we will (look forward to a better future)!!

This is the CHANGE we can believe in!!
