Jenny McCarthy could be headed to the couch at ABC‘s The View. It’s been reported that the comedian is in serious talks to join the show as a panelist, when it returns for its 17th season this fall. McCarthy is no stranger to the show, having been a regular guest co-host. Plus, she has experience on the talk show front, having hosted The Jenny McCarthy Show on VH1. McCarthy would fill the spot left vacant by Joy Behar, who is leaving the show when her contract expires in August. The news comes on the heels of Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s reported exit for Fox News.

Cooking chops and sabotage skills are on the menu in the new Food Network competition series Cutthroat Kitchen. Hosted by Alton Brown, the game features a briefcase filled with $100,000 in cash, four competitors, three rounds of cooking and auctions where chefs bid on items to help themselves or hinder their opponents. The 13-episode series premieres on Sunday, August 11 at 10p, immediately following the Food Network Star finale, which airs at 9p. The series is produced by Embassy Row.

Meredith Vieira is returning to daytime. The former host of Today and The View is launching her own nationally syndicated daytime talk show, The Meredith Vieira Show, in fall 2014. The daily New York City-based show will be produced and distributed by NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution with Vieira also serving as an executive producer. The show, which will be taped on a set that resembles Vieira’s home, will offer a mix of human interest stories, celebrity guests, and lifestyle segments. “Each day, I hope to accomplish what I call the three H’s: Heat, Heart and Humor,” said Vieira.

Three producers – Denny O’Neil Jr., Jake P. Hall and Charles W. Malcolm – have filed a $60 million lawsuit over Oxygen‘s 2011 reality series sTORIbook Weddings, starring Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. The suit was filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Oxygen Media, Bunim-Murray Productions, World of Wonder Productions and Spelling and McDermott’s production company, Life in a Bowl Productions. Among the charges are breach of implied in fact contract, breach of fiduciary duty and slander of title in connection with what they allege was theft of their idea. The suit seeks more than $8.5 million on each of seven causes of action. It also alleges that the three producers pitched Oxygen and Bunim-Murray a reality series called Tattoo Star, which shares “nearly every creative element” with current series Best Ink.

Amazon has struck a multiyear licensing deal with Viacom to carry hundreds of TV shows on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video. The agreement includes popular kids shows Dora the Explorer, The Backyardigans, and SpongeBob SquarePants. It also includes programming from MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central such as Awkward, Tosh.0 and Workaholics. The move comes weeks after Viacom programming came off Netflix, which chose not to renew its licensing deal with the company.

From extra episodes of Fashion Police airing daily, to popping up on the network’s other series, to special birthday content appearing on Eonline, Rivers will bring her unfiltered comedy to all areas of the network. Despite the show’s writers still being on strike, E! will air a brand-new half-hour episode of Fashion Police every night Monday, June 10  through Thursday, June 13 at 10:30p, culminating with a special full hour birthday salute to Rivers on Friday, June 14 at 10p. The half-hour special episodes will feature guest appearances by celebrities, friends, and even some victims of Rivers’ past critiques. In addition, Rivers will make daily appearances on E! News, surprise Joel McHale during the July 12 episode of The Soup, and even stay up late one night to invade the set of Chelsea Lately.

Dan Harmon, creator of NBC‘s Community, is in talks with Sony Pictures Television to return to the series in some capacity for its upcoming fifth season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. From plastic surgeon to US President: Hot off his role as glossy Dr. Jack Startz in the HBO biopic Behind the Candelabra, Rob Lowe has been announced as the star of the upcoming National Geographic Channel factual drama Killing Kennedy from Scott Free Productions. He’ll play the President John F. Kennedy. Ginnifer Goodwin will join Lowe in the White House as first lady Jacqueline Kennedy, while Michelle Trachtenberg rounds out the cast as Lee Harvey Oswald’s wife, Marina. Killing Kennedy will premiere on the National Geographic Channel later this year in the United States and globally in 171 countries and 38 languages, timed to the 50th anniversary of the assassination.

The Kennedy Center has chosen Carol Burnett as the recipient of the 16th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The beloved comedienne launched The Carol Burnett Show in 1967, which ran for 11 seasons on CBS, scoring 25 Emmys; Burnett herself won six over the course of her career, not to mention eight Golden Globes, 12 People’s Choice Awards and a Peabody (for the 1979 ABC movie Friendly Fire). History‘s Pawn Stars is back with an all new season, on a new night. The show is moving to Thursday nights at 9p beginning May 30. Viewers will see the Pawn Stars haggle over a slew of interesting historic items this season – from a guitar believed to be signed by Paul McCartney and items signed by all four of The Beatles to a reproduction of the Back to the Future DeLorean car. Included in the new night is a brand new original theme song performed by legendary rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band recorded a custom song for the show titled Winning Isn’t Everything.
