MTV: Whitney: From The Hills To The City (Premiere) at 10pm
VH1 will premiere its new eight-episode reality series Confessions of a Teen Idol January 4 at 8p. The series takes a group of former teen idols from the 80s and 90s and under the tutelage of Scott Baio, former child star now producer Jason Hervey and celebrity psychologist Cooper Lawrence, each are given the tools and confidence to make a career comeback. The heartthrobs include Christopher Atkins, David Chokachi, Billy Hufsey, Jeremy Jackson, Eric Nies, Jamie Walters and Adrian Zmed. The series is co-produced by Bischoff Hervey Entertainment and 3 Ball Productions.

A new one-hour weekly syndicated variety series will feature singer/musician/producer/arranger Brian McKnight in The Brian McKnight Show from Litton Entertainment. The show, slated for a fall 2009 debut, will include live performances from comedians, musicians and other entertainers.

(the Beatles’ music label not the computer company) called an early morning press conference for Thursday to announce an “exclusive agreement” to develop “an unprecedented Global Music Project.” Unless MTV has pulled off a third party deal to represent the Beatles long-awaited digital music catalog, a Fab Four Rock Band game is the most likely news. (MTV owns the Harmonix, maker of the Rock Band console game.)

MICHAEL JACKSON’S THRILLER DANCE IN TIMES SQUARE
Just head to Times Square on Friday morning, where Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum will try to break the Guinness record for the most people doing a “Thriller” dance. Participants get a zombie makeover and the chance to pose with a wax Michael Jackson, which will be wearing Jacko’s original jacket from the classic 1980’s video. The record is 62, set in 2006.

CASTING CALL
Brides Night Out, a bachelorette party planning company, is casting for a television pilot featuring a soon-to-be-married bride and her girlfriend stories. The casting call dubbed “Project Adjustment: Bachelorette to Bride” wants engaged brides to submit single girlfriend stories starting September 1 at www.myspace.com/bridesnightout and www.bridesnightout.com . A winning story will be selected September 12 and the bride will win a deluxe bachelorette party and be in the television pilot. Participants must be engaged, at least 21 years old and live in the Southern California area at the time of the party. The pilot will be shot in the Los Angeles area this fall, produced by Brides Night Out, Inc. in collaboration with Story House Productions.
