Host Mariska Hargitay did her best, but viewers just weren’t watching the Emmys this year. The 78th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards reached 6.7 million total viewers on NBC, down 10% from the 7.4 million who watched Nate Bargatze host on CBS last year.
-For NBC, however, that number is still an improvement. The last time the network hosted the program was in 2022 with host Kenan Thompson, which only achieved 5.9 million viewers. The company also said that the event achieved its “best ever reach” for a non-holiday NBC entertainment special on Peacock, second only to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast.
-NBC tends to struggle compared to the other networks that regularly air the Emmys because it airs its telecasts on Mondays so as not to interfere with its own “Sunday Night Football” programming. The network did the same thing in 2014, 2018 and 2022.
-Unfortunately, this year might be the last time Emmy ratings are even available, as the event is in talks to give airing rights to Amazon starting next year.

“Shrinking” key second assistant director Mindy Tessa McKoin filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Randall Winston on Tuesday. She alleges that she was wrongfully terminated from her position at the Apple TV series in July 2026 and faced sexual harassment from Winston in 2024.

France is getting its own version of “The Pitt” from HBO Max under the working title “Rush” (and not “Le Pitt,” as funny as that would be). The medical drama boasts Nils-Antoine Sambuc (“Belphégor”) as creator-writer and Neal Baer (“ER”) as associate producer. The streamer is also developing a French police thriller tentatively called “Bodycam,” from Timothée Hochet (“Lost Media”) and Benjamin Adam (“L’Opéra”).

Paramount+ will stream “UFC 331: Van vs. Pantoja 2” from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sept. 19. Headliners Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja previously fought last December at UFC 323, which was the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s final pay-per-view event before its new media deal with Paramount Skydance.
