Spotify is expanding music videos in beta tousers in the US and Canada. Premium subscribers in beta markets can open Spotify on their TV, desktop, iOS, and Android device, select a supported track, and tap “Switch to video.” The music video will start playing where the song left off. What’s the value of video? “After a fan engages with an artist’s music video, they’re more likely to dive deeper into their artistry,” said Spotify on its website. “We’ve seen that when fans discover a track with a music video on Spotify, they’re 34% more likely to stream it again and 24% more likely to save or share it in the following week.”
Sheinelle Jones has been named permanent co-host of the 10a hour of NBC’s “Today,” joining Jenna Bush Hager. Jones will step away from her job as co-host of the third hour of the show, where Craig Melvin, Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer will remain. “Today with Jenna and Sheinelle” premieres Monday, January 12. Hager has been joined by guest co-hosts since Hoda Kotb left in January.
FOX has finessed its Winter 2026 premiere dates, adding special advance premieres of returning comedy “Animal Control” on Sunday, December 28 at 8p and new series “Best Medicine” on Sunday, January 4 at 8p, following FOX NFL doubleheaders. A two-night premiere event for new drama series “Memory of a Killer” is slated for Sunday, January 25 at 10p, after the NFC Championship Game.
The seventh and final season of Netflix comedy “The Upshaws” drops Thursday, January 15. The series stars Mike Epps, Wanda Sykes and Kim Fields.
Apple TV’s “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” David E. Kelley’s series adaptation of the Rufi Thorpe novel, debuts with three episodes on Wednesday, April 15. Elle Fanning stars as an aspiring writer who needs to make money fast.

Hulu is developing “Vatican City,” written and executive produced by Robert and Michelle King (“The Good Wife”). The drama, focused on the Vatican’s first female spokesperson, comes from Scott Free and CBS Studios.
Matt Gutman is leaving ABC News to join CBS News as chief correspondent, effective January 5. CBS will keep him busy – Gutman will report for “CBS Mornings” and “CBS Evening News,” serve as a lead correspondent for “48 Hours” and contribute to “60 Minutes,” and serve as a fill-in anchor for the network’s flagship broadcasts.
NBCUniversal reports Telemundo is 90% sold out of inventory for its Spanish-Language presentation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. To date, the company has seen double the spend from advertisers since the 2022 FIFA World Cup with more digital participation from brands, a diversified client base, and greater sponsorship activations. “The growth of soccer in the United States coupled with the domestic nature of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and rising demand for both live sports and Spanish language content has proved to be the winning formula for our company, as NBCUniversal sits in its strongest position ever this far out from a FIFA World Cup tournament,” said Peter Lazarus EVP, NBC Sports & Olympics, Advertising and Partnerships. “The upcoming competition in Spanish-Language on Telemundo and Peacock will captivate a highly engaged and passionate audience that our partners are eager to connect with.”
The Overtime Nationals High School Football Championship, launched in partnership between Overtime and Omaha Productions, airs today, Wednesday, December 10 at 7p on ESPN2. The CW Network’s 2025 regular season college football slate featuring games from the ACC and Pac-12 conferences saw year-over-year viewership gains of 10% in total audience, averaging 456,000 total viewers per week, according to Nielsen (Big Data + Panel). ACC football experienced the largest year-over-year growth, up 26% in total audience compared to 2024. The CW’s most-watched game of the year was the double overtime showdown between the Baylor Bears and the SMU Mustangs on September 6, which drew an average of 1.13 million total viewers and peaked at more than two million viewers, to rank as the second most-watched college football game to date on the network.
