The Writers Guild 0f America East urged its CBS News members to refrain from responding to a memo sent by CBS News’ new editor-in-chief asking staffers to describe how they spend their working hours. “We are aware that Bari Weiss sent an email asking CBS employees to provide information about their jobs and feedback about CBS News. Many of you have expressed concern to us about the purpose of the email, and we share those concerns,” wrote the guild. “That is why we sent the company an immediate demand to provide information about the email by Monday. We suggest that you refrain from responding until we are able to share the information that we receive so that you can make an informed decision by the Tuesday deadline.” In her email, Weiss said its purpose was to determine “what’s working; what’s broken or substandard; and how we can be better.”

AMC Networks has extended CEO Kristin Dolan’s contract through 2028. “Kristin has done a remarkable job leading AMC Networks through this period of change and has the operational background that makes her ideally suited to this role,” said James Dolan, Chairman of AMC Networks (and Kristin Dolan’s husband). “Her focus on partnerships, profitability and technology has established a clear path forward.”

Disney night on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” drew 5.88 million total viewers and a 1.26 rating among A18-49, hitting a new season high in both measures. It was the third straight week following its season premiere – and the first time in the show’s history – that the competition saw a week-to-week rise in both Total Viewers (+1% to 5.88 million) and A18-49 (+2% to 1.26 rating).
