Netflix has greenlit “Clue,” a competition series inspired by the classic murder mystery board game and 1985 film. Contestants will race to uncover the culprit, location, and weapon behind a crime. “Like so many families and friends over the years, we’ve gathered around the table trying to figure out who did it – making ‘Clue’ a source of nostalgia that everyone shares,” said Jeff Gaspin, VP of Unscripted Series, Netflix. “Thanks to the incredible vision of our partners at Hasbro Entertainment, IPC, and B17, we’re delivering a fresh, imaginative whodunit competition that will invite today’s audiences into that iconic world.” IPC and B17 are part of Sony Pictures Television, which acquired the rights to “Clue” last year.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill that turns down the volumeon commercials that are louder than the primary video content being watched. Building on Congress’ Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act passed in 2010, which applied to broadcast television stations and cable operators, the California law will also apply to streaming services. “We heard Californians loud and clear, and what’s clear is that they don’t want commercials at a volume any louder than the level at which they were previously enjoying a program,” said Newsom. “By signing SB 576, California is dialing down this inconvenience across streaming platforms.”
