Annette Bening has been tapped to appear in “The Dutton Ranch,” the working title of Paramount+’s highly anticipated “Yellowstone” spinoff series, featuring Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), and Carter (Finn Little). Bening will play Beulah Jackson, the formidable matriarch of a major Texas ranch. Chad Feehan will serve as showrunner.

Netflix House, a first-of-its-kind immersive fan destination, is opening this fall in Philadelphia (King of Prussia, Nov. 12) and Dallas (Galleria Dallas, Dec. 11), with a Las Vegas location set for 2027. The 100,000-square-foot space will bring Netflix’s most popular shows and movies to life through a mix of complimentary and ticketed experiences — think “Squid Game” challenges, “Stranger Things” adventures, “Bridgerton”-inspired photo ops, screenings, themed mini-golf and food at NETFLIX BITES. Tickets for paid experiences go on sale Oct. 17 (Philly) and Nov. 18 (Dallas), or now via a waitlist at netflixhouse.com.

Soap veteran Tristan Rogers, best known as Robert Scorpio on “General Hospital,” will make his final television appearance on August 26. Rogers, who died on August 15, filmed as Colin Atkinson on “The Young and the Restless” just a month before his passing. In a tribute video, co-star Jess Walton (Jill Abbott) said, “Tristan Rogers was a respected member of the soap opera community, and he was a beloved member of ‘The Young and the Restless’ family. And I had the pleasure of being his scene partner for many years. I adored working with him. We will miss you, Tristan, and your remarkable performance as Colin Atkinson.”

Hulu has ordered a pilot for “Foster Dade,” a YA mystery drama from Youco-creator Greg Berlanti, writer Bash Doran and Warner Bros. Television. Based on Nash Jenkins’ debut novel Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos, the project was fast-tracked after Hulu acquired the spec script in April. Set in both 2008 and the present day, the series follows a complex mystery at an East Coast boarding school, exploring themes of privilege, scandal, sexuality and masculinity against the backdrop of rising social media, millennial anxiety and pharmaceutical use.

Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood will all return as judges for Season 9 of the “American Idol” reboot on ABC, which will premiere in January 2026. Auditions for the new season begin August 26. Ryan Seacrest, who has hosted the show for 23 seasons, including the original run, is also expected to come back.

The Harlem Globetrotters will kick off their Centennial season with a special game at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, December 14 at 12:00 p. This historic event will feature over 60 current players in the largest “Magic Circle” ever, debut Centennial uniforms by designer Jeff Hamilton, appearances by Globetrotter legends and celebrities and a host of fan-friendly experiences — including a postgame celebration and limited-edition collectibles. The game marks the beginning of a yearlong celebration leading into the Globetrotters’ 100th Anniversary World Tour, honoring their legacy as pioneers in basketball and global ambassadors of goodwill.
