The companies reached an eleventh hour temporary deal on Thursday night keeping CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV and more on the air. But with just a month to go before March Madness, and April’s Masters tournament – both of which will air on CBS and Paramount+ – time is of the essence. “We appreciate your patience as we continued to negotiate on your behalf. Max has renewed “The Pitt” for a second season. Since the medical drama’s debut, it has been the streamer’s most-watched title globally. “It’s been a thrill to watch audiences embrace ‘The Pitt’ as an update to procedural storytelling with a cast who authentically embody the heroics of doctors and nurses on shift in a 2025 emergency room,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Max Original Programming. The show has been the focus of a legal dispute between the estate of Michael Crichton, creator of NBC’s 1994-2009 medical drama “ER,” and Warner Brothers, over alleged breach of contract.
