NewsNation will provide viewers with special coverage of the 2024 Presidential election leading up to Nov. 5, including expanded coverage on election night. The network will partner with Decision Desk HQ to provide real-time election results, voting analysis and projections, and race calls. On election night the network will present “NewsNation Decision Desk 2024,” co-anchored by Chris Cuomo, Elizabeth Vargas, and Leland Vittert from 6p to 1a. The CW Network will provide a simulcast of NewsNation’s election night coverage from 8 p – 12 a. “The Hill Sunday” will present a special edition on November 3 and on November 6, “Morning in America” will begin an hour earlier than usual, from 5a-9a. Other programming will include special segments like “Swing State Spotlight” and “Driving the Vote.”

SuperBloom House and Purveyors of Pop (“Real Housewives,” “Married to Medicine”) are developing a new reality series – “Mystery Voyages” – featuring Virgin Voyages founder Richard Branson and set on Virgin’s newest cruise ship “Brilliant Lady.” The series is being developed as both an entertainment and an advertising feature, with the brand, creators and producers all working to solve a marketing challenge. Casting and packaging are currently underway. In addition, SBH has been named Virgin Voyages’ first-ever Entertainment Partner, helping the company explore new ways of leveraging traditional entertainment channels to reach consumers in more engaging and unexpected ways. Through the partnership, the brand plans to tap into major pop culture phenomena like “White Lotus,” “Traitors,” “Saltburn” (and accompanying TikTok posts) driving consumers to plan vacations around what they’ve seen on streaming TV.

Paramount+ has renewed original series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” for a second season. Emmy-winner Tatiana Maslany (”Orphan Black”) will be a recurring special guest star in season one, which is currently in production in Toronto.

CBS has given a second season order for “Matlock” the new drama starring Kathy Bates, for the 2025-26 broadcast season. The show, a reimagined version of the classic television series of the same name, has been “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% average Tomatometer score. “Matlock” airs on Thursdays at 9p on the CBS Television Network and is available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

TLC is gearing up a slate of new episodes for several reality series next month, starting November 4 with “(500) Days of Bummer,” (“90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way”) and “Sharing a Bed With My Mother-in-Law” (I Love a Mama’s Boy”). The 42nd season of “Wheel of Fortune” with new host Ryan Seacrest and co-host Vanna White delivered its best premiere month audience in three years, reaching nearly 40 million viewers and making it the No.1 series on television. The show averaged 7.99 million total viewers this season-to-date, beating every series in primetime during the month of September. Viewership was up +12% vs. last season’s premiere month and the show is up 3% in the A25-54 demo in the first month of the season compared to the same period last season.

About 6.8 million viewers tuned in across FS1, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports streaming services for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ NLCS-clinching Game 6 victory, the best performance since 2019. On FS1, 6,272,000 viewers tuned in for NLCS Game 6, marking the most-watched telecast on the network since the New York Yankees-Houston Astros ALCS. The peak audience of 6,973,000 viewers was between 9p-9:15p, with the top available markets being Los Angeles (12.4/38), New York (8.6/22), San Diego (6.7/22), Hartford, CT (4.5/12) and Philadelphia (4.4/12). The contest was also the most-streamed LCS Game 6 in FOX Sports history (157,058 AMA).

During the week of October 14 – 20, FOX News Channel (FNC) led all of cable television with total day viewers for the 41st consecutive week powered by “Special Report’s” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. In primetime (8p-11p), FNC earned 2.6 million viewers and 331,000 in the 25-54 demo and 1.6 million viewers and 209,000 in the 25-54 demo in total day (6a-6a). “Special Report” saw a 53% increase with 7.8 million viewers and its 1.126 million in the A25-54 segment was up 63%, compared to same period last year. The interview was the second most-watched telecast in cable TV for the week behind Monday Night Football. Additionally, FNC secured 81 of the top 100 telecasts in cable news. FNC’s “The Faulkner Focus’” women’s issues town hall with former President Donald Trump in Georgia on Wednesday nabbed 3.1 million viewers and 440,000 in the 25-54 demo. FOX News Channel’s “Gutfeld!” averaged 3 million viewers and 415,000 in the 25-54 demo for the week.
