Fox series “9-1-1-Lone Star” will officially end its run with the upcoming fifth season. The final 12-episode season of the drama series starring Rob Lowe will premiere September 23, with the series finale scheduled for early 2025.

Fox Entertainment and Veteran television writer and producer Hank Steinberg have entered a broadcast direct deal that will expand his current collaboration with the company to develop new, Fox-owned scripted dramas for the network. Known for creating the police procedural drama “Without a Trace” for CBS, the post-apocalyptic drama “The Last Ship” for TNT and ABC’s social justice legal drama “For Life,” Steinberg is currently executive producer of the Fox medical drama “Doc,” slated to debut as part of the network’s midseason lineup.

Academy Award nominees Melissa McCarthy (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?”) and Clive Owen (“Closer”) will star in the upcoming Paramount+ limited series “JonBenét Ramsey” as JonBenét’s parents Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey. Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, production will begin in Calgary, Canada, with Richard LaGravenese (“Behind the Candelabra”) serving as showrunner and executive producer. Four of the eight episodes, including the first episode, will be directed by Anne Sewitsky (“Presumed Innocent”), who will also serve as executive producer.

Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to “The ‘Burbs,” a new series adaptation of the 1989 film of the same name. Celeste Hughey (“Palm Royale,” “Dead to Me”) will write and executive produce the series starring Keke Palmer (“Nope,” “Password”), who will also executive produce. Seth MacFarlane (“Ted”), Erica Huggins and Aimee Carlson for Fuzzy Door will executive produce alongside Brian Grazer (“Empire,” “Arrested Development”), Kristen Zolner and Natalie Berkus for Imagine Entertainment. Dana Olsen, the writer of the 1989 film, will serve as co-executive producer on the series. The series will film in Los Angeles at the same location as the original 1989 film, the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood.

Paramount+’s new original series, “Landman, starring Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton will premiere on Sunday, November 17 on Paramount+. The series will launch with two episodes and subsequent episodes of the 10-episode first season will be available every Sunday. Co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, “Landman” is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.
