The request of a writer and director that Netflix’s hit shark film “Under Paris” be withdrawn from the platform while his plagiarism case wends its way through French courts has been denied. Vincent Dietschy claims the movie, released June 5, was developed without his knowledge from an idea he registered in 2011. The judge ruled the takedown request was “inadmissible” because the paperwork named Netflix’s French arm, Netflix Services France, rather than its Netherlands-based parent Netflix International BV.

Crunchyroll and Aniplex are adapting Korean web-novel turned webtoon “Omniscient Reader” into an anime series. The announcement was made at Anime Expo 2024, along with the news from lead voice actor Yusuke Kobayashi that the next and final chapter of the Dr. Stone saga, “Dr. Stone Science Future,” is “10 billion percent confirmed coming soon to Crunchyroll.”
