CNN’s presidential debate on Thursday, simulcast across 22 networks,delivered 51.3 million TV viewers, according to Nielsen. CNN drew 9.5 million TV viewers, Fox News had 9.28 million tune in, ABC News attracted 9.21 million and MSNBC drew 4.12 million viewers. Hefty numbers, but a drop from the last debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, in 2020, which delivered 73 million viewers. In 2016, 84 million people tuned in for the first debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Slated for August, the White House Creator Economy Conference will be “an opportunity for the thousands of creators and industry professionals who think about the creator economy every day to really have a seat at the table,” said Christian Tom, the Biden administration’s Director of Digital Strategy.

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company has been struggling with the financial burden of its 2022 purchase of Redbox and the production stall caused by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. CSSE warned in a SEC filing last month that a bankruptcy filing was possible. In a message to employees on Saturday, the company said, “Upon court approval, we expect payroll to be funded early in the week and funding for this upcoming week’s payroll to also be secured. We also expect to have the funds to reinstate medical benefits back to May 14, 2024 and going forward.”
