The Office of the CEO, made up of George Cheeks, Brian Robbins and Chris McCarthy, outlined their plan to cut $500 million in costs, including layoffs, and said they are exploring a joint venture for streamer Paramount+ and a shift in streaming strategy that focuses on company IP like SpongeBob SquarePants and Star Trek. In a note to employees afterward, the CEOs said the company’s town hall meeting, scheduled for today, has been moved to June 25, writing, “Given the ongoing speculation regarding potential M&A, we want to be able to speak to you with as much candor and transparency as possible. By moving the date, our hope is to do just that.”
