T-Mobile has agreed to buy U.S. Cellular in a deal valued at $4.4 billion.The transaction, which should be completed in mid-2025, will give T-Mobile more than 4 million new wireless customers and additional spectrum to carry data services.

SPIN magazine, originally launched in 1985, is returning to print with its first newsstand edition since 2012 on August 29 and will be the first issue to be edited by founder Bob Guccione, Jr. since he sold SPIN in 1997. Guccione has been consulting with SPIN since mid-2020. SPIN was acquired by Next Management Partners in 2020, is published online and operates SPIN Records, SPIN Films, SPIN Podcasts, SPIN Labs and produces concerts and events at festivals such as Coachella, SXSW and Art Basel.

The latest film in PBS’ American Masters shorts series – “American Masters Shorts: Love, Jamie” – premieres on June 3 in honor of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. The film depicts Jamie Diaz, a 66-year-old trans woman and artist who has spent nearly 30 years in a men’s prison in Texas. The film reveals how her enduring friendship with volunteer Gabriel Joffe has helped Jamie’s art reach far beyond the prison walls.

HDNET Movies honors the 80th Anniversary of D-Day on June 6 and June 7 with a special marathon of classic war films beginning at 8a with “Ambush Bay,” starring Hugh O’Brian, Mickey Rooney, and James Mitchum as soldiers on a harrowing reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines. Other highlights include a double dose of John Wayne as a PT boat lieutenant on a doomed mission to Manila in John Ford’s “They Were Expendable,” and “In Harm’s Way,” with Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, and Burgess Meredith. Alec Guinness and William Holden star in “Bridge on the River Kwai,” winner of seven Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actor; and Cary Grant and Tony Curtis are submarine sailors in “Operation Petticoat.” June 7 kicks off with an encore of “Bridge on the River Kwai,” followed by “They Died with Their Boots On” with Errol Flynn as Gen. George Armstrong Custer. Rounding out the marathon is “A Bridge Too Far,” “Enemy at The Gates,” and “Force 10 From Navarone.”

Spotify will launch a new weekly video podcast, “Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch,” with hosts and NCIS castmates Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly on June 4. In each weekly episode, de Pablo and Weatherly will invite a guest to join them as they rewatch NCIS episodes. Former franchise cast and guest stars making appearances include Sean Murray, Sasha Alexander, Eric Christian Olsen, Jon Cryer and others.

The latest season of “Ugliest House in America,” which debuted April 22 on HGTV, attracted more than 10 million total viewers. The series, starring comedian and actress Retta, averaged a .47 live plus three-day rating among Adults 25-54 and a .64 L3 rating among Women 25-54. It also averaged a .49 L3 rating among upscale Adults 25-54 and a .65 L3 rating among upscale Women 25-54. In addition, “Ugliest House in America” ranked as a Top 5 non-news/sports cable program with Women 25-54, upscale Women 25-54 and upscale Adults 18-34 in the timeslot.
