NBCUniversal execs touted the content giant’s reach, programming and ad tech at its Upfront presentation Monday, with Global Advertising & Partnerships Chairman Mark Marshall pointing to its One Platform Total Audience offering, which showed dramatic increases in sales (up to 38%) for customers like Domino’s, Amgen and others versus its traditional plans. “Results like this don’t just happen on their own,” he said. “They happen when you invest in premium content and data.” NBCUniversal Studio Group chairman and Chief Content Officer Donna Langley pointed to NBCU as a home for storytellers, and that the company gives a “voice to visionary artists with something to say.” NBCU News Group chairman Cesar Conde added that the news division’s audience trust and reach locally, nationally and internationally is important during these “momentous time,” adding that it is a “responsibility we take very seriously.”

Seth Meyers, who drew some of the biggest laughs during NBCU’s Upfront presentation, has renewed his contract to host “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” through 2028. His Sethmaker Shoemeyers production company also extended its agreement with Universal Studio Group to produce content across NBCU platforms. Meyers recently celebrated his 10-year anniversary as the host of the talk show.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, 20 years after their reality show “The Simple Life” bit the dust, are reportedly ready to pair up again. In a joint posting with Richie and the streamer on Instagram, they wrote: “New Era. Same Besties. Coming Soon to Peacock.” Seems a new reality show is coming to Peacock. “The Simple Life” lasted for five seasons (three on Fox, two on E!), and Hilton has done a reality series for Peacock – “Paris in Love” – which debuted its second season in November 2023. Richie has done voice work for animated series “HouseBroken” and was a recurring character on “Bless This Mess.”

Fox Entertainment unveiled its 2024-25 programming slate at its Upfront presentation at the Manhattan Center Monday, with new dramas, comedies and unscripted series joining the lineup. New shows include action-drama “Rescue: HI-Surf,” from executive producer John Wells; psychological crime procedural “Murder in a Small Town” and medical drama “Doc.” Returning series “Accused” will have new cast members Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Nick Cannon and Michael Chiklis. Comedian Denis Leary will star and executive produce single-camera comedy “Going Dutch,” while animated comedy “Universal Basic Guys,” will join the lineup. Fox also will air a new special event “The Real Full Monty” and “LEGO Masters” will air its annual multiple-night holiday event “LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular.” Additionally, FOX Sports’ presentation of Super Bowl LIX will air on Februray 9, followed by a special episode of “Rescue: HI-Surf.”

Fox Entertainment President of Scripted Programming Michael Thornhas given an early season-two renewal to upcoming animated comedy “Universal Basic Guys” ahead of the show’s premiere. The series, from creators Adam and Craig Malamut (“Sports Friends,” “Game of Zones,” “The Champions”), centers on two brothers, Mark and Hank Hoagies, who lose their jobs to automation and are given $3,000 a month in a new basic income program.

Caravan has begun production on a new history documentary, “Field of Vampires,” for PBS’s “Secrets of the Dead,” which is slated for broadcast this fall. Abacus Media Rights, an Amcomri Entertainment company, has secured distribution rights to the rest of world, excluding the U.S., and has already made pre-sales to A+E Networks EMEA for Sky History in the UK and The History Channel in Poland and SVT in Sweden.

Ahead of the season two debut of “House of the Dragon,” on June 16, Max has announced opening submissions for the national “Beatport Presents House of the Dragon Remix Challenge,” with the electronic music hub. From May 13 through May 29, contestants can submit their remixes to the “House of the Dragon” theme song using stem files which can be downloaded from the Beatport-owned platform Loopcloud.com.

The Academy of Country Music, Prime Video, and Dick Clark Productions revealed their lineup of presenters for the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards on May 16. Alabama, BRELAND, Tyler Cameron, Jordan Davis, Sara Evans, Carin León, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Dion and Rozene Pride, Noah Reid, Richard Sherman, Charissa Thompson, Randy Travis, and Clay Walker will be among the presenters at the awards. Roku has reached a multi-year deal for rights to Major League Baseball, offering a slate of 18 games – dubbed “Sunday Leadoff” – that will stream live and for free on its Roku Channel on Sundays from May 19 to September 15.
