One News America Network and the network’s Chanel Rion have settled a defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems executive Eric Coomer. Both parties said they have “fully and finally settled the disputes among them,” including Coomer’s allegation of conspiracy theories that forced him to leave his home amid threats. Newsmax had originally been named a defendant in the suit, but settled the case. Dominion earlier reached a $787.5 million settlement with Fox News over a defamation claim.

Amid a blackout resulting from their carriage dispute – and days away from the regular season debut of “Monday Night Football” – Disney and Charter are alerting their customers to alternatives to watching Disney networks on cable. While Disney is pushing viewers to Hulu+ Live TV, Charter is preparing a QR code to create a new YouTube TV or Fubo subscription, reports analyst Craig Moffett. “Despite the ongoing dispute, consumers have many other choices – such as Hulu + Live TV – that allow them to enjoy the great programming for which Disney Entertainment is known,” noted Disney in a blog post on Tuesday.

Warner Bros. Discovery warns of a big dip in adjusted EBITDA for 2023 due to the actors’ and writers’ strikes, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. WBD said it is “expecting lower adjusted EBITDA for the full year in the range of $10.5 to $11 billion, reflecting the company’s assumption that adjusted EBITDA will be negatively impacted by approximately $300 to $500 million, predominantly due to the impact of the strikes.” On the flip side, the company raised its free cash flow expectations to at least $5 billion for “Barbie”-fueled 3Q23.

Global TikTok advertising revenue is set to reach $53.95 billion by 2027, according to TradingPlatforms.com. TikTok announced global advertising revenue of nearly $12 billion in 2022. “Over the years, TikTok has gained massive traction, especially from Gen Z , who value the space it provides for self-expression and interest exploration,” said the site’s financial analyst, Edith Reads. “Businesses wanting to reach the much younger generation are considering TikTok as their main advertising outlet. The projected results for 2027 only speak volumes of the desire for businesses, small and huge alike, to interact with the new generation and promote their products, potentially bringing more returns.”
