Ken Jennings is the new host of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” The “Jeopardy!” co-host has replaced Mayim Bialik, who hosted one season of the new show, and will make his debut on September 27 at 8p, followed by season premieres of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” at 9p and “The $100,000 Pyramid” at 10p.

Lawyers representing reality stars accused NBCUniversal of hiding “civil and criminal wrongs.” Calling out “unlawful” NDAs on reality programs on NBC, Bravo, E! And CNBC, attorney Bryan Freeman’s letter dated August 20 said, “NBCUniversal has represented to the public that it requires its third-party production partners to comply with its own policies in an effort to stop harassment, discrimination, and other illegal conduct.” It continued, “Yet, for obvious reasons, it has turned a blind eye as these production partners enforce illegal nondisclosure agreements to hide civil and criminal wrongs.”

The Entertainment Community Fund has raised more than $7 million and distributed more than $4.7 million in financial aid to more than 2,300 film and TV workers since the start of the WGA strike. “Given the heightened rate of requests for emergency financial assistance due to the work stoppage, the Fund is distributing about $400,000-$500,000 per week, compared to an average of $75,000 per week in the first half of 2023,” the ECF said.

Charles Martinet, longtime voice actor of Nintendo’s Mario, has retired.The original voice of the game series character will continue his association with the character as a “Mario Ambassador.” Nintendo posted on X, “With this transition, he will be stepping back from recording character voices for our games, but he’ll continue to travel the world sharing the joy of Mario and interacting with you all!”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has signed on to EP Netflix’s new NASCAR docuseries. Covering the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs and championship race, the streamer’s latest sports doc has already begun filming, as the drivers challenge each other for a spot in the Playoffs. Earnhardt Jr. is the son of motorsports driver Dale Earnhardt and has won 26 races in the Cup Series; he will executive produce the untitled project, premiering in early 2024.

Prime Video reversed the show’s previous renewal due to the ongoing strikes, though co-creator and star Abbi Jacobson posted to Instagram to say, “To blame this cancellation on the strike is bull—- and cowardly. Meta plans to launch a desktop version of X rival Threads this week, reports The Wall Street Journal – assuming it can get the kinks worked out. “It’s a little bit buggy right now, you don’t want it just yet,” posted Instagram head Adam Mosseri. “As soon as it is ready we will share it with everybody else.” While Threads’ introduction in July was a success, usage has fallen off, with the absence of a full web version among the complaints.
