Ryan Seacrest is taking over for Pat Sajak as the host of “Wheel of Fortune” when Sajak retires at the end of next season. He’ll also serve as a consulting producer on the show. “I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” said Seacrest. “Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease. Following a reshuffling of Fox News hosts that has Jesse Waters moving from 7p to 8p starting July 17 to fill the slot left open by Tucker Carlson’s April exit, the roles of the eight remaining staffers on Carlson’s show have been eliminated. They may find spots elsewhere at FNC, and could be eligible for enhanced benefits if they remain until July 14. Carlson was fired in the wake of the Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit and the release of embarrassing private messages.

An open letter from GLAAD in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign urged social media platforms to come down harder on hate speech directed at the LGBTQ community. “There has been a massive systemic failure to prohibit hate, harassment, and malicious anti-LGBTQ disinformation on your platforms and it must be addressed. The very content you profit from is in violation of your own terms of service, which assert that you do not allow hate speech,” said the letter, signed by over 200 people including Dan Levy, Cynthia Nixon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Judd Apatow and Lena Dunham.

Max has greenlit the thriller “When Nobody Sees Us,” its first series order in Spain. “Throughout my professional career I have made several thrillers with different intensity and themes. ‘When Nobody Sees Us’ is for me a first and exciting incursion into the television serial of detectives and pure investigation,” said director Enrique Urbizu (“No Rest for the Wicked”), of the eight-parter. “Both in tone and rhythm, this is a new adventure for me.”

For the month of June, Fox News topped the Nielsen chart in primetime with 1.49 million viewers, down 31% versus the same period last year. MSNBC inched up 3%, to 1.32 million viewers, while CNN was down 3%, to 635,000. In Total Day – perhaps less affected by the exit of Tucker Carlson – FNC was down 21%, MSNBC was up 9% and CNN was up 1%.
