Netflix has adjusted its method for reporting streaming viewership, going from hours viewed to hours viewed divided by total runtime when calculating its top ten ranking. The change means a fairer shake for shows like “Queen Charlotte,” which had short run times. The streamer is also expanding its measurement window from 28 days to 91 days.

Total TV usage dipped 4.4% in May versus April, while streaming usage increased 2.5% during the same period, according to Nielsen’s The Gauge report. Streaming’s share of overall TV usage rose from 34% to 36.4% for the month, with the biggest gainers Netflix (up 9.2%) and Prime Video (up 5.1%).
