New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a day dedicated to “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” For the series’ impact on the city, April 14 will henceforth be “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Day.” Over the course of five seasons and seven years, the Prime Video series has employed approximately 37,000 actors, craftspeople, dancers, musicians, day players and background actors. Adams said the series “showcases the beautiful streets of New York City, features a strong female lead character, and is the perfect example of how our city’s film and TV industry creates jobs, and generates economic activity.” He added, “We are going to continue to work with studios and stakeholders, like Prime Video, to ensure New York City is made available to them for their production needs.”

Vanessa Hudgens’ spirituality takes center stage in “Dead Hot.”Alongside her friend, musician GG Magree, Hudgens travels to Salem, Mass. to explore witchcraft, ghosts and spiritual connections in the unscripted film. “During 2020, I think we were all looking for ways to better ourselves, to grow and come out of it as better people,” Hudgens said. “I was actually leading little coven meetings over Zoom with a few other witchy friends. It was such an uplifting community and it had me even more curious about witchcraft. The exploration seemed like a special thing to document and share.”

National Geographic and BBC Studios announced a new limited series.“Lost Gold” (working title) traces the rise and fall of Tommy Thompson, scientist and explorer, from his discovery of the S.S. Central America to his two-year prison sentence. With 600 hours of archive footage and thousands of slides, prints, photos and newspaper clippings, the three-part series will uncover the story of the man who discovered treasure at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
