The 75th Emmy Awards have been scheduled for Monday, September 18 at 8p on Fox. “What began as a modest ceremony with five awards at the Hollywood Athletic Club has evolved into television’s biggest night, celebrating excellence throughout the industry,” said the Television Academy and Fox Entertainment. “In the age of ‘peak TV’ with close to 600 original scripted series, the Academy now recognizes artists, artisans, crafts people and storytellers in nearly 120 categories.” The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10, with an edited presentation telecast on FXX at a later date. Nominations will be announced July 12.

The day after Disney CEO Bob Iger announced a major reorganizationand cost cutting measures, activist investor Nelson Peltz said he has ended his proxy fight against the company. “Management at Disney now plans to do everything that we wanted them to do,” Peltz told CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Thursday. “We will be watching, we will be rooting, and the proxy fight is over.” In response to Peltz’s announcement, Disney’s board released a statement saying, “We respect and value the input of all our shareholders and we appreciate the decision by Trian Fund announced by Nelson Peltz this morning….We are pleased that our Board and management can remain focused without the distraction of a proxy contest, and we have tremendous faith in Bob Iger’s leadership and the transformative vision for Disney’s future he set forth.”

Will Disney’s interest in Hulu also be a thing of the past? On CNBC, Iger acknowledged that as the 2024 deadline to buy or sell the company’s stake in Hulu approaches, “I’m concerned about undifferentiated general entertainment, particularly in the competitive landscape that we are operating in, and we are going to look at it very objectively and expansively.” Asked what he’d do if Comcast wants to make an offer, Iger told David Farber, “We will be open minded.”

Telemundo and Billboard announced an expanded partnership for 2023that calls for the companies to collaborate on the first ever Latin Women in Music, a new music franchise focused on women’s impact in the music industry, complementing the the Billboard Latin Music Awards. Also in the works are broader multi-platform offerings with that will appeal not only to the core musical audience, but cater to different demographics. “Music is an integral part of our Latino identity and has always played an important role in our content offering across all genres and platforms,” said Ronald Day, President of Entertainment and Content Strategy for Telemundo.

Google has launched the Cost-Per-Hour Masthead on YouTube, offering brands exclusive ownership of the Masthead leading up to, during or after priority moments. “Marketers, you know this well: you center advertising campaigns around the tentpole moments most likely to inspire your audience, shift perceptions or influence a purchase decision,” said the company in a blog post. “Every industry has a ‘drop’ moment: fashion brands release new lines, production companies share new movie trailers, tech companies host product launch events. MTV and Smithsonian Channel announced the premiere of “The Exhibit: Finding The Next Great Artist,” a docu-competition series in which seven diverse artists compete for a $100,000 cash prize and an exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC. Each rising artist is tasked with creating a museum exhibit based on the Hirshhorn’s mission to feature art that “responds to history in real time.” The series premieres Friday, March 3 at 9p on MTV and Tuesday, March 7 at 9p on Smithsonian Channel.

Screen Media has acquired North American rights to the true-crime-inspired thriller “Maggie Moore(s).” Directed by John Slattery and written by Paul Bernbaum, the film reunites Slattery with his “Mad Men” co-star, Jon Hamm. Yahoo plans to lay off over 20% of its total workforce as it restructures its ad tech division. FOX Sports unveiled its 39-match broadcast schedule for the 2023 Concacaf Men’s U-17 Championship with matches airing live across the FOX family of networks, including FS1, FS2, FOX Soccer Plus and Tubi. Beginning Saturday, February 11, twenty teams will compete in the two-week long tournament that will see all four semifinalists qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023. Nineteen matches will air on FS2, including Quarterfinals, Semifinals and the Final on Sunday, February 26 at 5p. Tubi will live stream select matches from the Concacaf tournament for the first time, including four Round of 16 matches.
