It’s official: “1923” will have a season two. The debut of Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” prequel series on Paramount+ was the most-watched premiere on the streamer ever in the US, with 7.4 million total viewers across Paramount+ and linear previews.

Also getting a sophomore run is “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches.” After dethroning “Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire” as the top new series premiere in AMC+ history last month, the series will further expand the Anne Rice Immortal Universe on AMC and AMC+. Production is expected to begin later this year in New Orleans.

Three’s a trend: Netflix greenlit a second season of “That ‘90s Show.” The “That ‘70s Show” spinoff premiered on January 19 and has totaled more than 41 million hours viewed, reaching the streamer’s Top 10 English TV list in 35 countries. “We owe the fans, old and new, for taking the trip with us in the first season – and we can’t wait to be there with them in the second season,” said Lindsey Turner, co-creator and executive producer.

Sarah Michelle Gellar revealed that Dolly Parton was a producer on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Gellar said, “Yes, little known fact, the legend Dolly Parton was a producer.” She continued, “We never saw her [but] we’d get Christmas gifts in the beginning that would have our name, and I would think, ‘She doesn’t even know who I am.’ And then one day, someone asked her about it, and she complimented the show and my performance. I was like, ‘Oh, I can die now. Dolly Parton knows who I am and thinks I’m good.’”

Cliff Curtis (“Fear the Walking Dead”) has been cast in “Chief of War.” The nine-episode Apple series starring and executive produced by Jason Momoa will follow the colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous perspective. Curtis will play Ke?ua, a man who believes he should be chief.

Woody Harrelson is hosting “Saturday Night Live” with musical guest Jack White on February 25. This will mark Harrelson’s fifth time hosting the sketch comedy show, and his first since 2019. White has performed on “SNL” three times – once as the rock duo The White Stripes in 2002, and then as a solo act in March 2012 and October 2020.

Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Coulier and Jodie Sweetin will attend the event on March 18 and 19 in Hartford, Connecticut, for a Q&A panel and a meet and greet. Super Bowl Monday could become a state holiday in Tennessee. Under a proposed bill introduced by Tennessee State Senator London Lamar and Tennessee State Representative Joe Towns Jr., the football aftermath day would replace Columbus Day as an official state holiday. Representative Towns said, “My bill simply wants to examine giving the rest of us the day off. Let’s face it, it doesn’t get much more American than the Super Bowl and it’s becoming more and more the norm to miss work the next day. So maybe we should just codify it…or at least just talk about it.”
