Alex Wagner landed the 9p slot on MSNBC, stepping into the hour left open four days a week by Rachel Maddow. The new program will debut August 16. Maddow will continue to host her show on Mondays, as well as focus on other NBCUniversal projects. “I’m honored to be anchoring a key hour of television in such a critical time for American democracy,” said Wagner, who left MSNBC in 2015, but returned this year as analyst and guest anchor. “In many ways, the stakes have never been higher, and there’s no better place to explore this moment than MSNBC.”
