Former HBO chief Richard Plelper and his just-launched Eden Productions inked a five-year exclusive deal with Apple TV+. “Apple is one of the most creative companies in the world, and the perfect home for my new production company and next chapter,” said Plepler. The exec announced in February, ahead of AT&T’s purchase of HBO parent WarnerMedia, that he was leaving after almost 28 years.

Daytime talk show RuPaul is not moving forward in syndication, after last summer’s three-week trial run in Fox markets. Rookie talk show stars Kelly Clarkson (1.5 Live+SD national Nielsen rating, up 15% from the week before and Tamron Hall (1.0, up 11%) were the only new syndicated series moving up in the session ending December 22. Clarkson was the season’s number one newcomer for the 15th straight week, scoring its biggest rating since its premiere week despite being in reruns. Hall matched its highest numbers of the season and was the top-rated show in its time period in major markets like Atlanta, where on WSB at 3p it outperformed all competition.
