That’s what she said: Under a new deal with NBCUniversal , Comedy Central extended its exclusive cable deal for The Office through 2021, with the series continuing to air through 2025 in a non-exclusive window on Viacom Media Networks. Viacom also renewed its deal for Parks and Recreation; all 125 episodes will be available to air on Comedy Central through 2024.

Superstar singer Taylor Swift isn’t shaking off ongoing issues over music rights to her songs , warning fans last week that her planned performance at the American Music Awards on November 24, along with a Netflix documentary about her career and all other recorded events until November 2020 are “a question mark” because of a dispute with Big Machine Records. Swift urged fans, as well as artists managed by her former record label, to intervene on her behalf with Big Machine and its new owner, Scooter Braun. A social media scuffle ensued in which Big Machine accused Taylor of enlisting her fan base “in a calculated manner” and closed early on Friday, allegedly because of death threats made to staff;  Swift’s team said Big Machine is trying to distract from claims of unpaid royalties.

A combined CBS and Viacom will “absolutely have enough scale” to compete against larger media and tech firms, said CBS Corp. and Viacom vice chair Shari Redstone at Paley’s International Council Summit. “We not only have the scale, we have a track record of producing hits. I think we’re in a very good position to compete going forward.” As for how this merger will compare to the merger of Viacom and CBS in 2000 (undone in 2006), “These companies were together before but never were they integrated the way this company is going to be integrated now,” she said. “We are one culture, one set of values, one strategy and one team.”

Dylan and Paris Brosnan, sons of Pierce Brosnan , will serve as the 2020 Golden Globe ambassadors, helping distribute statuettes at the ceremony taking place on Sunday, January 5 at 8p on NBC. As part of the philanthropic piece of the assignment, the brothers will work with FEED, which delivers meals to children. “Dylan and Paris Brosnan have already achieved tremendous success in the fashion world and are following in their father’s footsteps in entertainment. Disney+ subscribers will be able to access The Simpsons episodes in their original format starting in 2020, according to the LA Times. “We presented The Simpsons in 16:9 aspect ratio at launch in order to guarantee visual quality and consistency across all 30 seasons,” said a spokesperson for the streamer. “Over time, Disney+ will roll out new features and additional viewing options,” including their original 4:3 aspect ratio. The announcement comes after viewer complaints that the larger aspect ratio hurt some visual jokes.
