Facebook has been hit with antitrust investigations in New York, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and the District of Columbia. “I am proud to be leading a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general in investigating whether Facebook has stifled competition and put users at risk,” said New York Attorney General Letitia James. “We will use every investigative tool at our disposal to determine whether Facebook’s actions may have endangered consumer data, reduced the quality of consumers’ choices, or increased the price of advertising.” A separate investigation of Google’s practices, joined by “perhaps more than 40 attorneys general,” according to the Wall Street Journal, is expected to be announced outside the U.S. Supreme Court today.

In more friendly Facebook news, the social media giant launched its Facebook Dating service in the U.S. last week, allowing users to integrate Instagram posts, and by year’s end Facebook and Instagram Stories, into their Dating profiles. A “Secret Crush” feature also allows users to share a list of Facebook and Instagram followers they have their eye on, and if both users have chosen each other, they’ll be notified they’re a match.

Eva Longoria was one of 27 people who offered a statement to the judge sentencing Longoria’s former Desperate Housewives co-star Felicity Huffman in the college admissions scandal case. In a letter obtained by NBC News, Longoria wrote that when she started on the show, she was bullied by a co-worker. “I dreaded the days I had to work with that person because it was pure torture. Until one day, Felicity told the bully ‘enough’ and it all stopped,” shared Longoria “Felicity could feel that I was riddled with anxiety even though I never complained or mentioned the abuse to anyone.” Huffman, who pleaded guilty to mail fraud for paying $15,000 to boost her daughter’s SAT scores, is due to be sentenced on September 13.

USA Network ordered the Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us)-led limited series Evel, based on the story of daredevil Evel Knievel and his historic Snake River Canyon jump.  From UCPEtan Frankel (Shameless) will write and exec produce. Serving as executive producers are McG, Mary Viola, and Steven Bello of Wonderland Sound & Vision; Alex Gartner, Charles Roven and Topher Rhys-Lawrence of Atlas Entertainment; and Ventimiglia. Production is expected to begin in 2020.

The Walt Disney Co. inked a long-term deal to take all the stages, backlots and other production accommodations at UK’s Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. “It’s wonderful to have Disney here at Pinewood,” said Paul Golding, Chairman of Pinewood group. “They’ve been making great films with us for many years and the fact they want to shoot so many more here is testimony not only to the quality of the teams and infrastructure at Pinewood, but also to the British film industry as a whole.”
