The typical U.S. adult streamer spends an average 57 minutes streaming non-linear content in a day, and two hours and 42 minutes on linear TV, according Nielsen’s “Streaming: Friend or Foe to Local Markets?”. However, access to and reach of non-linear TV streaming content doesn’t always correlate with usage, notes Nielsen. Austin and Columbus have the highest conversion rates among streaming device owners – in Austin, 76% of adults have a streaming device and 70% use them to stream content to their TVs, for a 93% conversion rate. In Columbus, the conversion rate is 92% (67% device ownership and 61% usage). On the flipside, Philadelphia and Seattle have the lowest conversion rates, at 71% and 74%, respectively.

A+E Studios inked a two-year first look development and production deal with production company The Cut. Under the pact, A+E Studios and The Cut, co-founded by producers William Green and Aaron Ginsburg, will develop and produce scripted projects together for the A+E portfolio of networks, as well as for broadcast, premium cable, streamers and other outside buyers.

The NYC suburb of Yonkers, NY will be home to a new $100 million TV and film production facility, from Lionsgate and Great Point Capital Management. Construction on the complex starts in November, with plans to open by fall 2020. “We look forward to being the center of film and television production growth in the region,” said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer.
