Denis Leary (Rescue Me, Animal Kingdom) is set to topline a six-part Fox holiday comedy series set to air in December from CBS TV Studios, which will co-produce with Fox Entertainment. Based on the Australian series of the same name, A Moody Christmas is penned by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Tad Quill, and centers on the Moody family, whose members gather for the holidays with their eccentricities and complications in tow.

Ernest Hemingway memoir A Moveable Feast is headed for TV in an adaptation by Village Roadshow Entertainment Group, Mariel Hemingway, John Goldstone, and Marc Rosen. The group signed a deal to produce a series based on the book, originally published in 1964. Alix Jaffe, VREG EVP, television, will oversee the project with Jillian Apfelbaum, EVP, content, and Adam Dunlap, VP, television.

The McLaughlin Group is headed back to PBS stations across the country early next year. The long-running political commentary show resurfaced last year on WJLA-TV Washington DC, with host Tom Rogan and other show veterans Pat Buchanan, Eleanor Clift and Clarence Page. Maryland Public Television will begin airing the revived show exclusively on Friday, September 6 and will distribute it to PBS outlets nationwide beginning in January.

In syndicated news, despite featuring nothing but previously aired eps all week and not being seen on the 28 CBS-owned and -operated stations on DirecTV, Judge Judy (5.8 live plus same day national rating, up 2% from the week before) outperformed all syndicated shows for the third time in four weeks in the session ended August 4. Dr. Phil (2.1, up 5%) also had a good frame, leading the talk shows for the 152nd week in a row. Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.9, steady) was the only other talker in the hunt, snaring second place for the 23rd straight week.
