BET Networks and Tyler Perry Studios are teaming for BET’s upcoming subscription video-on-demand service. BET+ will be available this fall, featuring more than 1,000 hours of content including exclusive new original programming and series, movies, and specials from BET Networks, Tyler Perry, and other leading African American content creators. “African Americans are the leading consumers of streaming services, with higher SVOD adoption rates than other consumers, which is why we’re so excited to launch a premium product for this underserved audience,” said Scott Mills, President of BET Networks. “Tyler Perry is the perfect partner for BET+. The combination of new, original shows and his giant library of popular movies, series and stage plays that Tyler brings to our joint venture creates an amazing product for his large and passionate fan base.” Additionally, First Wives Club, developed at Viacom sib Paramount Network then moved to BET, will now debut on BET+.

CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell premieres Monday, July 15 at 6:30p on CBS, and 10p on streaming service CBSN. In addition to serving as anchor and managing editor of CBS Evening News, O’Donnell will be the network’s lead anchor for political coverage of the primaries and election nights. She will also continue as a contributing correspondent for 60 Minutes. CBS announced O’Donnell was replacing Jeff Glor in May.

Refinery29 and fashion company Kate Spade announced the debut of Pilot Season, a collaboration designed to celebrate, mentor, and launch female content creators. The companies will debut a new “pilot” from a filmmaker every day this week, distributed for the first time via Refinery29’s Instagram. After the videos premiere, the two brands will determine which creator’s pilot will be selected for further development as a potential series.

This July, Turner Classic Movies is presenting “Out of This World: A Celebration of Sci-Fi Movies,” a collection of science fiction movies that air every Tuesday night in primetime.
