Jeopardy! On Monday’s episode of Jeopardy!, professional sports bettor James Holzhauer’s incredible run ended with his 33rd game and total winnings of $2,462,216, just $58,484 shy of Ken Jennings’ record haul. But Holzhauer left having set records of his own, including an average $77,000 in winnings per game and the most money won in one episode. Emma Boettcher, a University of Chicago librarian, brought Holzauer’s streak to an end. “I lost to a really top-level competitor,” Holzhauer told the NY Times. “She played a perfect game. And that was what it took to beat me.”

Vice News is ramping up its digital news division ahead of the 2020 election, part of Vice Media CEO Nancy Dubuc’s plan to focus on five core business areas: news, TV, digital, studio production and agency Virtue. In a memo to staff, editor-in-chief Ryan McCarthy said Vice News hired seven people, and is looking for two more. The company laid off about 10% of its workforce earlier this year.

Original Suits star Patrick J. Adams will return for at least one episode of the USA drama’s ninth and final season, an assignment he’ll juggle along with playing John Glenn in Nat Geo’s upcoming The Right Stuff. Nickelodeon is bringing UK hit game show The Crystal Maze to the U.S. in a version co-produced by Bunim/Murray Productions (The Real World) and RDF Television (Wife Swap), under the Banijay Group. A forerunner to the escape room craze, The Crystal Maze challenges a family team to navigate an elaborate labyrinth of four giant and immersive themed zones.

The CW is adding to its summer slate with Two Sentence Horror Stories, launching Thursday, August 8 at 8p. Anthology series was inspired by viral fan fiction. Previously announced sci-fi action series Pandora premieres Tuesday, July 9 at 8p, while action thriller Bulletproof launches Sunday, July 28 at 8p. Remaining summer premiere dates include Wednesday, August 7 for comedy game show Hypnotize Me; Tuesday, August 13 for investigative documentary series Mysteries Decoded; and Monday, August 19 for season two of CW Seed musical comedy I Ship It. Extreme sports docu-series Red Bull Peaking debuts Friday, Septemjber 13. The net also set series finale dates for Jane the Virgin (Wednesday, July 31) and iZombie (Thursday, August 1).

Among the announcements at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference on Monday: AppleTV will be compatible with Xbox One and Playstation Dualshock controllers, so they can be used with Apple’s upcoming gaming service; users in a family will each be able to have their own profile on AppleTV for recommendations; iTunes is being replaced after 18 years by three separate apps, Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Podcasts; iPhones, iPads and the iPod touch will have an optional dark mode in iOS 13; a new login platform, Sign in with Apple, will allow users to log in to outside apps with FaceID; and the Mac Pro desktop is returning to its traditional tower shape.
