On a happier note, Starz picked up Vida for a third season. In addition to critical praise, the drama has seen its Hispanic audience grow 56% compared to the same period in season 1, giving it the highest Hispanic audience composition among premium scripted series in 2019 (Live+3). Starz Hispanic subs have grown 17% since the series premiered in May 2018 and the number of new customers who watched Vida’s season two on the app in the first seven days was almost double year over year.

The upcoming sixth season of HBO comedy Silicon Valley, created by Mike Judge, John Altshuler and Dave Krinsky, will be its last – but likely not the last viewers will see of the creative team. “This type of comedic chemistry, both behind and in front of the camera, is rarely found,” said Amy Gravitt, EVP of HBO Programming. “Silicon Valley is just the beginning of many more collaborations with these hilarious writers and performers, as well as our standout crew.”

Foreigners interested in coming to the U.S. might want to give their Twitter accounts a once-over before applying for a visa. The State Department has updated its immigration and nonimmigrant visa forms to request information about social media usernames, email addresses and phone number histories. In the past, that information was only required from applicants identified as needing extra scrutiny.

The Writers Guild of America blasted non-franchised talent agencies for trying to take package fees on deals negotiated after April 12, when negotiations between the WGA and agencies fell apart. “If these bad behaviors continue, the guild will advise the full membership which agencies, law firms or managers are acting contrary to their fiduciary duties, and we will take the appropriate legal action to protect members’ interests,” warned the guild. Negotiations are slated to resume June 7.

Jeff Glor, replaced as anchor of CBS Evening News by Norah O’Donnell, will remain with the network as co-host of CBS This Morning: Saturday. Glor, who joined CBS in 2007, will also report for CBS News’ “Who We Are” franchise, and work with the CBS News investigative unit. “Jeff brings a humanity to his reporting and will be a perfect fit on SATMO, as it is fondly called around the CBS Broadcast Center,” said CBS News head Susan Zirinsky.
