NBCUniversal announced the launch of a feature that makes shopping a cinch for viewers. ShoppableTV directs viewers to e-commerce websites using QR codes within TV shows; viewers can hold their phone cameras up to the screen during “On-Air Shoppable Moments,” and be taken directly to a marketer’s site for purchase.  “With ShoppableTV, NBCUniversal is transcending the legacy business practices of television and driving business outcomes by creating an on-air real-time commerce experience,” said Josh Feldman, EVP and head of marketing and advertising creative at NBCUniversal. “We’re giving marketers a direct sales channel to millions of viewers across the country.”

CBS This Morning’s Gayle King announced on Monday’s show that she will have new co-hosts, Anthony Mason and Tonyh Dokoupil, starting May 20. Current co-host Norah O’Donnell makes the big move to anchor and managing editor at CBS Evening News starting this summer, while John Dickerson is shifting over to 60 Minutes. As for the soon-to-be-out-of-a-job current anchor of the evening news, “Jeff Glor is a fantastic journalist and trusted colleague here,” said King. “His conversation, you should know, with CBS News [continues]. We all hope very much he will continue working here; it will be his decision.”

HBO offered an explanation, sort of, after fans had a field day when a feast in Winterfell included what appeared to be a Starbucks coffee cup during Sunday’s episode of  Game of Thrones. “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake,” said HBO. “Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

E! canceled talk show Busy Tonight, shared host Busy Phillips via Instagram. While the show’s final episode on E! airs May 16, “We’ve talked to some people and we are trying to figure out if there’s a place that makes sense for our show to go to, and hopefully we will be able to figure that out,” said Phillips. “I think we will.”

SeriesFest announced the three finalists of this year’s Storytellers Initiative, a program created to discover original episodic writers. Industry creatives including Liz Keyishian (Sesame Workshop and Apple Productions), Laura Brennan (Pitching Perfectly), Jon Vandergriff (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Home Improvement), Paige VanTassell (Storytellers Season 4 Winner), Anne Toole (The Lizzie Bennet Diaries) and Ben York Jones (Everything Sucks), led the finalists in a two-day workshop last week in Los Angeles. Writers of the winning project will be announced in late May.
