Brad Falchuk, who’s spent over a decade at 20th Century Fox Television, is heading to Netflix. The writer-producer has signed a four-year overall deal with the streamer to develop, write, produce and direct new series via his Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision banner. As part of the agreement, Falchuk will continue to work on his existing shows with 20th TV and FOX – 9-1-1, Pose, American Horror Story and American Crime Story – as well as Netflix’s upcoming The Politician.

Empire star Jussie Smollett was cleared of multiple felony charges. The actor was arrested on last month for allegedly faking a racist and homophobic attack against himself on January 29. Upon exiting the Chicago courthouse, Smollett told reporters he “just wants to get back to work and move on with my life.” Empire broadcaster FOX and studio 20th Century Fox TV released the following statement: “Jussie Smollett has always maintained his innocence and we are gratified that all charges against him have been dismissed.”

Season 2 of Telemundo’s La Reina del Sur, premiering Monday, April 22 at 10p, will feature a soundtrack recorded by the Miami Symphony Orchestra. The music score was created by Alberto Slezynger and his team at Personal Music, exclusively to accompany the series’ diverse storylines.

Dish Network and Univision Communications struck a new, long-term carriage agreement, ending a nearly eight-month-long blackout. The two companies said restoration of Univision networks on Dish and DishLatino will begin immediately. “For more than 20 years, Dish has led our industry in serving the U.S. Hispanic community, and today’s announcement is reflective of our commitment to delivering quality content at the right value,” said Dish CEO Erik Carlson.

Back Roads Entertainment partnered with former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf to produce Busts, a documentary series examining some of the sports world’s biggest disappointments. Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder) is set to star in Amazon drama El Presidente. The eight-part series, produced by Pablo Larrain’s production company Fabula (A Fantastic Woman), Narcos producer Gaumont and Argentine producer Kapow, also stars Andres Parra (Pablo Escobar: El Patron del Mal) and Paulina Gaitan (Diablo Guardian). The project is inspired by the real-life characters and events behind the 2015 “FIFA Gate” corruption scandal.
