The Democratic National Committee won’t partner with Fox News for its upcoming primary debates. Tom Perez, DNC Chairman, said in a statement that “recent reporting in the New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and Fox News has led me to conclude that the network is not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates.” MSNBC, NBC and Telemundo will partner for the first primary debate, slated for June. CNN has the rights for the second debate in July. Bill Sammon, SVP and Managing Editor of Fox News in Washington, said, “We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody the ultimate journalistic integrity and professionalism, from moderating a Democratic presidential debate. The amount of cord cutters nearly doubled in 2018, according to the latest study by Leichtman Research Group, with the largest pay-TV providers losing about 2.9 million video subscribers. That’s up from 1.5 million subscriber losses in 2017. The research firm, which tracks providers covering about 95% of the market, found that gains from virtual MVPD services, aka “skinny bundles,” aren’t making up for the conventional subscriber losses. A growing number of viewers are doing without pay-TV totally, presumably in favor of subscription services like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime Video. Satellite distributors DirecTV and Dish Network suffered the bulk of the losses – a collective 2.36 million in 2018, up from 1.55 million in 2017.

If we can help move the world in this direction, I will be proud of the difference we’ve made.” Among the points in the new privacy plan, Zuckerberg noted that Facebook will introduce a way to make messages time-out, so that they will disappear by default after a preset time limit, with users able to control when their messages vanish.
