Paramount Network makes its official debut on Thursday, January 18 at 9p, with a live one-hour episode of Lip Sync Battle. Rebranded from Spike TV, the Viacom net promises stories that are “immersive, inclusive and deeply personal.” Later in January comes the premiere of WACO, a series based on the true story of the 1993 FBI siege of a religious sect.

Veteran NBC sportscaster Bob Costas was among the many who weighed in on the weekend’s controversy over the 200+ NFL players who knelt during the national anthem to protest police brutality. The surge in participants came after President Trump urged owners to fire players who wouldn’t stand. “This is no disrespect to the military,” said Costas on CNN’s New Day. “Martin Luther King was a patriot, Susan B.
