truTV is launching a new brand campaign that spotlights the Turner network’s programming transformation into a home for comedy-driven reality and scripted series. The network’s new tagline is: “Funny because it’s tru.” The cross-platform campaign, which truTV created with its new agency partner WorkInProgress, showcases talent from the network’s shows including Impractical Jokers, Adam Ruins Everything, and Those Who Can’t. “Our goal with this campaign was to re-introduce viewers to truTV and our hilarious roster of talent and shows,” Puja Vohra, EVP of marketing and digital, tells Cynopsis. “Our new tagline captures both our comedic identity and approach to life. The inspiration for this campaign was all those intentionally ridiculous spots that networks have done over the years featuring unnaturally glammed up TV stars awkwardly interacting on an over-lit set. They were meant to be ridiculous, right? Oh god, I hope so.”
