AARP announced that Morgan Freeman will receive the 2016 Movies for Grownups Career Achievement Award on Monday, February 6 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. “At a certain point in life, if you’ve had some success, awards start to fall from the sky. But this one really means something,” Freeman told AARP The Magazine. “I started my movie career at 50 and some of the best years happened since then. I get a lot of pats on the back – they’re all over the place – but this one’s more than fun, it’s priceless.” In addition to film, Freeman hosts Science’s Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman.

The sixth ATX Television Festival rolls out its first panels and programming for June 8 to 11 in Austin, TX. Among the highlights are reunions for Designing Women and Northern Exposure. The Designing Women panel features creator/EP Linda Bloodworth-Thomason and stars Delta Burke, Annie Potts, Jean Smart, Gerald McRaney, Hal Holbrook and Douglas Barr.
