Gibson recalls a confrontation with writer-producer Virgil Williams about a line in a scene. Afterward, Williams entered a room and, claims Gibson, “as he brushed past me, my foot came up and tapped him on the leg….We had some choice words, for which I apologized the next day, and that was it. It was over.” Gibson was given a two-week suspension, then dismissed from the show.
