MSNBC has set a premiere date for The 11th Hour With Brian Williams. The show, the first program since Williams was dismissed as anchor of NBC Nightly News, debuts at 11p Tuesday, September 6 and will feature Williams anchoring live from MSNBC Election Headquarters in NY’s Rockefeller Center. Patrick Burkey serves as executive producer of the weeknight program, which will look at political news of the day during the final stretch of the Presidential election.

Seth Meyers surprised Howard University students when he brought First Lady Michelle Obama to his taping of the show on campus in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday night. Bruno Heller, creator of The Mentalist, returns to CBS as an exec producer on vigilante drama Firewall. The project was written/exec-produced by The Mysteries of Laura creator Jeff Rake and has received a put pilot commitment from the network. Rake and Heller both have overall deals at Warner Bros. Coming off strong ratings for its premiere, TLC ordered a second season of its first scripted series, Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home for premiere in 2017. Launched in partnership with corporate cousin OWN, the drama series reached 4.2 million viewers in its premiere airings across TLC and OWN. The August 22 premiere showed a nearly 50 percent increase among Women in L+3, according to Nielsen.
