Michael Strahan is leaving syndicated daytime talker LIVE With Kelly and Michael for a full-time position on ABC’s Good Morning America, where he has been appearing twice weekly. “Michael has been a stellar addition to the broadcast,” said ABC News president James Goldston in a note to staff.“Over the past two years on GMA, he’s proven to be a tireless and versatile broadcaster with an incredible ability to connect with people.” Strahan, a former football star who joined LIVE in 2012, starts his new role on GMA in September and will remain a co-host on NFL on FOX. “My time with LIVE with Kelly and Michael has been transformative, and my departure will be bittersweet,” said Strahan. “Kelly has been an unbelievable partner.”

With its contract with DISH Network set to expire tonight, Viacom warned the satellite TV provider’s customers that Viacom’s 18 networks could soon be dropped. “Viacom’s proposal to DISH to carry our channels is more than realistic and reasonable,” posted the media company. “As a long-standing partner, DISH has always paid among the lowest rates in the industry for Viacom Networks. …[DISH] has simply not engaged in a serious way to reach an agreement.” Responded DISH, “Viacom is asking hundreds of million of dollars in increases, despite the changing landscape.”

HBO and Discovery Communications have taken an equity stake in 3D graphics company OTOY, to develop original holographic content the companies anticipate will “deliver new entertainment experiences.” Count Jon Stewart, who has been working with OTOY on short-form content for HBO digital services, as a fan. “OTOY is unbelievable!” said the former Daily Show host. “It’s a limitless mind-blowing creative platform. My dream is to someday understand how they did it!!!”

The series premiere of CMT’s The Dude Perfect Show delivered nearly 2 million total viewers on Thursday, with back-to-back premiere episodes averaging .3 among A18-49, and ranked number two across cable in its timeslot among M12-17 with a 1.29 rating. Only three of the top ten syndicated talkers saw week-to-week ratings gains, as temperatures rose and PUT levels dropped the week ending April 10.
