A comedy special starring a young comic diagnosed with terminal cancer will air on HBO this spring. A Kickstarter campaign was launched on behalf of 32-year-old Quincy Jones (real name Quami) that led to a March 15 appearance on Ellen; host Ellen DeGeneres surprised Jones with the HBO news in a follow-up visit on Monday: http://ellentube.com/videos/0-x71zfym3/. Fox’s star-studded live musical The Passion averaged a solid 1.6/5 rating among A18-49 and 6.6 million viewers on Sunday, according to preliminary figures. That’s an improvement of 45 percent in the demo and 153 percent in viewers versus last Sunday, but down from the 4.3/13 and 12.21 million viewers the net’s Grease: Live delivered in January.
