Break out those umbrellas because Sharknado 4 will hit in July. Syfy and The Asylum announced today that Ian Ziering will slay again in the newest installment, reprising his role as shark-fighting hero Fin Shepard, while Tara Reid is set to return as April Wexler to reveal the outcome of the fan-voted #AprilLives or #AprilDies social campaign. The fourth addition will also see the return of David Hasselhoff as Gil Shepard and Ryan Newman as Claudia Shepard. The new movie whips up adventure five years after the East Coast was ravaged, and where Fin, his family and the cosmos have been living blissfully sharknado-free. Cast also includes Gary Busey, Tommy Davidson, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha and Cheryl Tiegs. Anthony C. Ferrante returns to direct an original screenplay written by Thunder Levin.

DirecTV’s April 7-10 transmissions from the Masters Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club will be the first live 4K ultra high-definition broadcast in the US. The content will fuel the new DirecTV 4K Channel, launching in April and include content from its Audience Network. The channel will be available to DirecTV Ultimate and Premiere subscribers who also have its Genie HD DVR and a 4K television.

The season 6 finale of Gold Rush scored big for Discovery with a season high in M25-54 and a 3.21 A25-54 rating with 5.78 million total viewers P2+ on Friday, March 4 in Live+3.  It was also the No. 1 nonsports telecast on all of TV every Friday for its entire 19-week run among M25-54 and M18-49. The finale made Discovery the #1 network on all of TV on Friday night across P/M25-54, P/M18-49, and P/M18-34, topping all the broadcasters.
