E! News co-anchor Terrence Jenkins is leaving the entertainment newsmag to focus on acting and producing fulltime. Jenkins produced and starred in his first feature film, The Perfect Match, coming out in 2016. “It’s important I grow and I wanted to leave on my own terms and when I was ready,” said Jenkins, who joined E! in 2012.

DreamWorks’ Steven Spielberg, Participant Media, Reliance Group and eOne have teamed to form Amblin Partners, a film, TV and digital content creation company that will develop and produce films using the Amblin, DreamWorks and Participant labels. Amblin Television will be part of the venture. Universal Pictures will handle marketing and distribution. Spielberg’s pact with Disney, struck in 2009, expires in August.

Vin Diesel’s One Race is partnering with Universal Television on a multi-year, first-look production deal with One Race Television. Shana C. Waterman has been hired as head of TV. “I have dreamt about expanding the One Race brand into television and now we’ve found the perfect creative partners,” said Diesel. AXS TV acquired UK scripted mockumentary series Hoff the Record, starring David Hasselhoff playing a fictionalized version of himself trying to revive his career across the pond. So far this TV season, broadcast nets have averaged a 3 percent decline in total day viewership. Football-fueled CBS and NBC are flat versus year ago, Fox dipped 2 percent and ABC is down 12 percent, according to MoffettNathanson Research data. While cable has slipped 6 percent, bucking the trend are AMC Networks, up 2 percent and Scripps Networks Interactive and Time Warner cable groups, which are flat.

Whether you were Team Trump or Camp Cruz, there’s no debating the big winner of Tuesday’s GOP contest: CNN. While the event didn’t hit the ratings-buster highs Fox News did for the first debate (25 million) or CNN for the second (24 million), this time around drew a third-best 18 million out of six, the second-most-watched program in CNN’s history.
