A familiar face is returning to host The Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that Ricky Gervais will emcee the award ceremony’s 2016 telecast. Gervais hosted the Globes for three consecutive years from 2010 to 2012, drawing both praise and criticism for his edgy attitude. “We’re excited to have Ricky Gervais back to host the most enjoyable awards show of the season in his own inimitable way,” said NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt. “Disarming and surprising, Ricky is ready to honor – and send up – the best work of the year in film and television.” The ceremony airs live Sunday, January 10 at 8p.

NBC‘s Saturday Night Live is gearing up for some major star power. Matthew McConaughey returns to Studio 8H on November 21 to host the series for the first time in over a decade. He’ll be joined by Grammy winner Adele, who’ll appear as musical guest.

Twitter and CBS News have partnered for the broadcast of the Democratic presidential debate on Saturday, November 14 at 9p. Twitter will provide CBS News with insights, live reaction and questions from voters, some of which may be incorporated into the debate. “Our people have worked with Twitter’s unique curator tools to measure changing responses to what viewers will see on the screen. Twitter integration will inform our coverage and integrate seamlessly with CBSN, our always-on digital network,” said CBS News President David Rhodes.

With a Live+7 ratings lift, CBS moved into a tie with NBC in A18-49 while maintaining first place finishes in viewers and A25-54 during the third week of the season, according to Nielsen data for the week of October 5 to 11. Among A18-49, CBS added .6 rating points (2.7 from 2.1, up 29 percent), tying NBC after trailing in Live+SD ratings (2.1 versus 2.2). The Big Bang Theory added 5.47 million viewers (to 20.87 million, up 36 percent) and NCIS added 3.87 million (to 20.74 million, up 23 percent) as both series passed Sunday Night Football (19.65 million) as the week’s top two broadcasts.
